Every year on the first Sunday in June there is the traditional celebration of the caper or also called the feast of the caper in bloom, on the small square of Sant’Onofrio at Pollara, small town on Salina island. For the occasion, many volunteers and professionals of the sector, prepare dishes based on capers and offer them to the visitors that every year come to the celebration. It’s a particular occasion to try the tasty capers from Salina, but also to taste the special atmosphere of this paradise. The capers are used in several dishes and prepared in different ways. There will be traditional music to create even more atmosphere.
