Capofaro was created from the love that the Tasca d’Almerita family has for wine and sea, a spectacular estate on the island of Salina designed for friends, guests and travellers of taste, providing the best in Mediterranean hospitality. Capofaro is the culmination of Sicilian cuisine and the Tasca family’s gastronomic traditions, recreated in the restaurant’s kitchen with the best local raw materials, craftsmanship and the creative flair of a southern chef. Capofaro, a member of the Relais & Châteaux association since 2017, is a place where you discover that luxury is natural beauty.
Capofaro is designed for rest and recuperation. The heart of the experience is the fresh water pool surrounded by Malvasia vineyards, found next to our spacious green oasis. Hidden by even more vegetation there is our garden spa, open for for treatments and massages. For sport lovers, there is a paddle tennis court by the lighthouse and yoga lessons on the roof of the Club House.
Capofaro can be reserved for corporate meetings and company away-days, guaranteeing high professional standards, peace and quiet all while surrounded by nature. It is possible to have meetings at our Clubhouse or on our terraces. For our working guests, there are also tailor-made services to discover Sicilian cuisine, local wines and artisanal Sicilian products. Guided tours of the Aeolian Islands are available upon request.

Aeolian style architecture meets minimal design. To add to the already loved rooms of Capofaro, 2018 brings the addition of six new rooms in the Capofaro lighthouse; guests can now stay in what was the guardian’s abandoned lodgings. Within the lighthouse there is the luxury ‘Il Faro’ Suite, two exclusive suites, two superior and one standard; the rooms all have a private garden and have either a sea view or looking out onto the pair of extinct green volcanoes.
